I like trains

I grew up on a railway station. My Dadcu (grandfather) was the station master. In the school holidays he took me to work with him. Get me out the house! I played on the platform and sometimes disappeared in the cab of those diesel engines. I think 66000.Anyway they were red and English, Welsh and Scottish. EWS.

My dad drove locomotives... some happy memories sitting in the cab as a kid as he drove...
@pknein it's sort of different aint it seeing the track and all the warning signs.

@LilirWyddfa well i love trains.. id travel a lot more by them if the US had a better rail system. I have been up and down the east coast though
@pknein I went to Mamgu and she lives in Redhill. I had the ticket on the train and changed in Cardiff. The trains from Cardiff are elerctric now. But from Reading to Redhill it's diesel.

That sounds great. I would have loved having a grandad who was a station master as kid. Actually, I'd enjoy it now.
@badminton My Dadcu was great. He retired but when I go on the train, the conductors still ask how he is.
You still travel by trains?
@mysteryespresso Yes. Except I haven't been since February to see my Mamgu.
