I Am An Introvert

Do you know that bubbly girl
Who was once in love and trusted all?
Do you know her from your school days
When she used to be like sunshiny-May?
Do you know her from the field trips,
The one who was the loudest and did skinny dips?
That girl is long lost in a mist,
Of heartbreaks and sadness, oh you get the gist.
Now she's afraid to pour it all out,
Now she's pretending she's made of something stout.
Now she's pretending to be an introvert,
To break open her shell, oh that'd be an art!
But you know all her secrets, don't you?
Secrets she laid bare, because she trusted you!
Oh what fun would it be to make her believe,
That it's alright to share things, and then leave!
"Serves her arrogance right", you'll probably say,
Not knowing yourself you're breaking her once again,
When she had covered up only to save herself,
From people like you who thought it's just another tale,
Of a betrayed heart, whose story entertained you
In your boredom and now that you're through,
You leave her with an open scar
rubbing salt on the wound,
As the foolish girl waits for another one to trick her soon.
