I Have Faith In God
Before anyone tells me this is to long ,its a story
I don't know how it works they are seen with posts ,but its a story
If you do not like to read ,then I suggest you just scroll on by it .
Its a testimony ,in a story ,and I am not apologizing for its length .
Some will read it ,some won't
the choice is strictly up to you .
But if you could use some encouragement ,conformation God really is a rewarder of those who love Him and seek to do His will .
Than maybe you should read it ,,
but I know upfront ,Its not for everyone
You have to have some faith ,and give credit where credit is do to receive blessing like these .
But God loves me no more than He loves anyone else ,
you only need to have the faith of a mustard seed ,and you too can receive ,
Anyways ,I hope someone enjoys this ,,I was truly blessed by my Doctor today
if you will ,I will share the story
I go into my Doctor this morning ,,and my Co pays for the year still have to be paid
My son in law jumps up and hands them a credit card ,and the receptionist says they can't take it ,it does not have the Visa logo ,
So he pulls out his other credit card "I got this Daddy "
God thank you for such an awesome son in law .
Then the Doctor comes in and sits down
"I have been reviewing your charts and records from the VA ,,your back is some kind of messed up isn't it "?
I say yes Mam ,,the VA doesn't seem to think so ,,until my last 2 MRI's they have acted like my pain was all in my head ,they painted me out to just be a drug seeker .
She says "Sir we have some people who come in here with minor problems and think its the end of the world ,begging for pain meds ,and I can't justify it ,but you on the other hand [b]I would not say you are some kind of messed up if your weren't[/b],
and I think the amount of meds you ask for is mild considering the condition your in ,
You can't fake this ,your MTI's show extensive damage ,spinal cord compromised ,and so many spurs ,and the scar tissue from your past surgery ,that is an issue too ,there is no doubt you are in pain .I can't understand anyone who would try to say your not .
Can I get you to do a few things for me ? Lift your arms ,,I do
Put your arms behind your back as far as you can ,,,I do
Bend over as far as you can ,,I touch the floor
Turn your head from one side to the other as far as you can ,I comply
And she say HOW ? HOW CAN YOU DO THAT ?
With all this ,you still have full range of motion ,,,How ?
Have you had other pain blocks done elsewhere ? No mam
You are not using any other supplements or oils ? No mam
You are only taking oxycodone and baclofen ? yes mam
Well the small dose of oxycodone you are taking couldn't accomplish that ,
Sir all I can say is "you have learned to adapt very well" ,,
it has to be something your doing ,it should be impossible for you to do all that .
The MRI's don't lie ,and I have no problem keeping you on the amount of narcotics you are on ,
its a very reasonable amount your asking for ,I am surprised you don't want more .
My Daughter who is in nursing says no mam "The Va had him on strong meds ,He is the one who asked for them to be decreased to what he takes now ,,and they took his meds for 2 yrs ,and not one time would my Dad take a pill that was not prescribed to him ,he refused
They give them to him and then they take them away ,and now they want him to say he is narcotic dependent and go into an abuse program .
She says they are nuts ,its a shame you went through all that and did not come to us sooner (My Daughter begged me to ,I was not fighting for just myself ,other Vets are being treated like this too ,,I was fighting for all of us ,,but sadly with the VA ,I concede ,I lost the battle .
She says I am still amazed though ,just on what I see ,I might say you were faking too ,but the MRI'S don't lie ,and I don't say a spine is really messed up often ,but your is .
So I say Mam would you like me to tell you why I can still walk and have such a range of motion ?
She said please tell me what your doing
I said I thank God every day for letting me walk and I never forget who enables me .
She says well it seems to work ,you should not be able to do all that .
Your range of motion is incredible with all that you have wrong with your spine and shoulders too ,,do you need us to schedule you pain blocks in your shoulders too ?
(they are doing pain blocks on my lower back on the 5th of February )
No mam right now my shoulders are not really giving me any pain ,,they Va actually offered to do that when they seen my latest XRays ,but for now I don't need them .
She also wrote my scripts for my pain meds for the next 2 months and did not require me to give her a UA (which I was happy to do )
So ,finally someone is not treating me like a drug seeker ,and confirms the VA has been just jerking me around and causing me to suffer (mainly in my legs ,not my back )
but with no meds ,with hot showers ,,my pain is bearable ,the meds just take the edge off and enable me to walk longer and sleep better ,but I can live without them if I had to .
