Top 10 Horror Films
1. Vampyr - Carl Dreyer's spookfest combines auteur filmmaking with this most pedestrian of genres, that is why it is my numero uno, but for spooky season Kenneth Anger's Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome rests above this, but i can't see that as a horror film.
2. Pieces - a delirious slasher, i defy anyone to name a better slasher than this, it is so dumb and over the top, ya gotta love it
3. A Night to Dismember - i was just over the moon when i saw it a few months ago, bad but transcendent.
4. The Return of the Living Dead - my #1 zombie flick, funny and good, not bad in the least
5. The War of the Worlds - seen just a few days ago, it's my #1 sci fi, so much fun, colorful and well done
6. Video Violence - my #1 SOV, i find the music theme to be an ear worm, a casio keyboard sort of thing
7. Blood Rage - so good, if a 80's horror fan and unseen yet, do yourself a big favor
8. Things - the best of the worst, Canada's Things is love it or hate it stuff, i love it, because it is so inept, dumb and stupid, all other films should look pretty good after seeing this heap of rubbish.
9. Burial Ground - my #2 zombie film, the Italians oh those lovely Italians, this is the best imo, even better for me at least than Argento and Fulci
10. Carnival of Souls - i wrap this up with a classy piece of spookiness
