I Dont Understand How You Can Be Pro Life and Pro War

But how can you claim to be pro-life and then also advocate for the second amendment?¿
SW-User
Being pro-life and pro second amendment goes hand in hand actually, because they are both about defending and protecting human life. A baby is a human life whose rights we acknowledge and respect when a criminal takes it (drunk driving for instance), yet we allow the mother to murder her child because it is an "inconvenience" to her and society (tax-payers etc) as a whole. That should not be.

Owning a gun does NOT give one the right to murder another. However, if someone comes into my home or is trying to murder me or my family, it is not only my right, it is my obligation to defend myself/my family. A gun gives me a fighting chance. That's why the police and military and security details use them... because the criminal and/or a tyrannical government has them, therefore we must, in order to effectively protect ourselves.

@SW-User well said.

The second amendment has to do with the right to have weapons. Not to use weapons to kill innocent people. Just like you have the right to use the services of a doctor but not the right to have the doctor kill your unborn child.

@MarineBob I’m pro-life. As for guns- if they’re legal they should be legal everywhere. School campuses, for example, are not allowed to have guns. So someone who does have a gun illegally on campus has the obvious advantage.
@MarineBob I never understood that last meme. Everyone who is for anything has already been born. But it doesn’t seem right that so many people without uteruses have been able to dictate how those with them must use them. 😒

your freedom has never been jeopardized in any way by our government or an outside force..once it is, then you will understand..
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
Of course. We also firebombed Dresden, Germany, a city with no military value. Does THAT bother you?
@ProfessorPlum77 Did we use nuclear weapons on them or on anyone else in Europe ? 🤔
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
No, we only had two. We used them on the country that attacked us without prior warning.
IWasCallingYaLarry · 26-30, M
I mean if someone who has guns can be trusted with them and trusted not to be an asshole with them and going around shooting people, then I don't see a reason why they shouldn't have them. It's their lives and their money. If somebody can't be trusted with them, then that's different. The problem isn't guns so much as it's people. People are the problem as well as mental illness because of how often that gets ignored. Also, this shouldn't be said because of how obvious it is, but if you get rid of guns then that will encourage more people to get guns illegally. It's like with anything else, you ban it and people will want it more. If you get rid of guns, people will find something else to use to hurt and kill people. In England, they don't have a gun problem, but they do have problems with knife attacks and acid attacks. So see, no matter what, people will find another way to harm others. There's just shitty people out there and that's sad. Having to rely on other human beings to not be shitty human beings is a terrible thing.

Probably the same way people justify being pro-choice and anti-war and anti-gun.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
We all deserve the right to protect ourselves. Misuse of a weapon to harm an innocent other party isn't a good enough excuse to limit such personal freedom.

The question regarding abortion is about when a human becomes a human and thus entitled to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
emptysoul44 · 41-45, M
I'm really pro choice but because eveyones circumstances are different but if I were staunchly pro-life I would be against killing babies but for killing communists and other brutal dictators
I think if people were honest with their most private thoughts-- a large number of people would admit the desire to liquidate, eliminate, whole groups of people. Fellow citizens. That's really unrelated to abortion, war, 2A-- but it's related in that there's a violent hateful underbelly to most societies. And that makes abortion, war, 2A more than meets the eye.

What do you think of the issues?
KamiKazi · M
I'm pro choice. In other words, I don't think it's up to me as a guy to tell you what you can or can't do with your body. As for guns, well I have a concealed carry permit and I regularly carry a gun with me wherever I go.
kramjj · 46-50, M
You're comparing apples to hula-hoops. One is advocating for the most innocent life in existence. The other is defending against the guilty.
And no one is pro war.
@kramjj No, if you believe all human life is sacred and are not just reducing women to human incubators, how can you kill someone you have in custody, with the power to incarcerate for their lifetime ? Killing them won’t revive the dead. And at that point killing them is just revenge.
I don’t see how anyone can claim to be pro-life and support the death penalty. Under the right circumstances a gun might be used to protect and sustain life. But once you have someone in custody and incarcerated, killing them is just revenge. It doesn’t bring anyone back from the dead.
ThatGirlLis · 22-25, F
@bijouxbroussard precisely- and from a Christian standpoint- the death penalty is revenge that is actually ROBBING a person of the chance to be saved. So how Christians can advocate the death penalty is beyond me
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
To save your life from someone else with that gun.

Now as for the group title I can't answer that
Likemyung · 61-69, M
The Second Amendment is a defense mechanism!

@Jackaloftheazuresand you don’t have an answer for the group title because no one should be in the group. This title was written by a left wing indoctrinating teacher that passed his/her thoughts on to this innocent young cheerleader. Being pro war is a contradiction of the Second Amendment and being pro life. I know hundreds of people that believe in the Second Amendment and have guns for hunting and keep weapons loaded and ready to defend their family and friends if needed. I don’t know anybody that believes in the second amendment that is pro-war. For that matter, I don’t know anyone that is pro war. Nobody wants war…
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
How can a person claim to be pro-choice, all the while denying choice to the person most affected, the defenseless child?
MrGoodbar · 51-55, M
because those on the far right don't understand what hypocrisy is. To small minded
Nikki921 · F
I don't view them as exclusive. Would you like to chat?

Guns saves more live than they take
