I Want To Write My Random Thoughts And Feelings

I took some time away from working from home to get my steps for the day, song in mind, walking around in the heat... I started to post 'if the 90s song is right and 'only kindness matters', how screwed are you?'

then I got out to my place by the creek that I've adopted as my meditation spot (also deer running through to get away from me sounded like damned horses. noisy deer) and worked on a cairn for a while, which always seems to give me time to run over many thoughts.

what if it is only kindness that matters? is that kindness based on the perception of the giver, the recipient or an outside party? e.g. you could be doing things for super selfish reasons but think or claim that you're doing it in kindness. or whoever's receiving your kindness might not take it as such whatever your intentions ('here, let me ease your suffering... ' 'jebus christmas, let me suffer and live a little longer, ok?'). or maybe something that's nothing to you, you even consider a selfish act yourself is immeasurable kindness to someone else ('here. take all this pocket change, it's too damned heavy' '... hooray, I can eat now and was just almost dead.')

so all of that was lots more fun than anything work has had to offer me today.

anyway. if Jewel was right, and 'only kindness matters', is true.
how screwed am I? how screwed are you?

If I could tell the world just one thing
It would be that we're all ok
And not to worry 'cause worry is wasteful
And useless in times like these
I won't be made useless
Won't be idle with despair
Will gather myself around my faith
For light does the darkness most fear
My hands are small, I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
Poverty, stole your golden shoes
Yet it didn't steal your laughter
And heartache came to visit me
But I knew it wasn't ever after
We'll fight, not out of spite
For someone must stand up for what's right
'Cause where there's a man who has no voice
There I shall go sing
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
In the end only kindness matters
In the end only kindness matters
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
I will get down on my knees, and I will pray
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
My hands are small I know
But they're not yours, they are my own
But they're not yours, they are my own
And I am never broken
We are never broken
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's mind
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's heart
We are God's eyes
God's hands
God's eyes
We are God's hands
We are God's hands[/i]

They say the response from being kind to another spikes your serotonin levels, making you... happy. So, is being kind to another, just to be happier yourself... selfish? 馃く

And I did listen to the song. I love Jewel

I love one-liners with a huge impact. I'm totally using that, if you don't mind
@Brooksy be my guest. although I think it's just reworded from 'any port in a storm', I can't really claim it as an original.

I figured!
