Funny how certain family members that were previously distant and didn't have the time of day for you are suddenly real nice (at least for a while) to the point where it's slightly uncomfortable.

The minor caveat is that this is only when you've reached a crisis point.

That is interesting. That reminds me of a certain family member who sometimes likes to get in my face and pick me apart and push my buttons until I almost break down and start crying, and then she acts all sympathetic and comforting. It's weird. I usually manage to keep my distance from her, but I don't always have a choice in the matter.

I guess that's a little different from what you have to deal with. But I'm glad that you're at able to find humor in your situation.
