I Am Pro Choice

I am pro choice because I know what it is like to have a pregnancy unwanted. I also know how important it is for a woman to make any and all decisions, regarding her pregnancy, and why it should ALWAYS be between her and her doctor.

I just hate that it took me to know this in my early 20’s, when I should’ve known this truth, a long time ago. Sorry I was late.
Gigi01 · 26-30, F
I hate how people care so much for the fetus, who hasn’t been born, who they will not carry for 9 months, who they will not bring into life, who they will not pay for, and won’t give a damn for once it’s born.
If they truly did care for the life of a child, believe me they’d be doing much more for kids in the foster care systems, kids who face homelessness and poverty, children who are IN NEED, but most of them, don’t.

If any woman went the hell and torture that I’ve gone through, in all 3 of my pregnancies, I wouldn’t hold it against her, if she decided to have an abortion. Whether you like it or not, it is her body. @TexChik
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
@TexChik that’s actually not true. I know a good handful of jerks that would force a woman to stay pregnant, after she’s been raped. I also know of a good handful who victim blamed, women who chose to have an abortion, because of rape.
LookingForIt987 · 51-55, M
Ah yes, when somebody can’t make a cogent argument, they resort to name calling. Because that’s the best way to make your point. Never mind that i brought up the girl in Ohio before you brought up the (false) point that no one thinks that way.

Yet despite “no one” thinking that way, that sure seems to be what the asshole legislators in Ohio put into the law. https://614now.com/2019/news/gov-politics/op-ed-heartbeat-bill-already-affecting-11yo-ohio-rape-victim So tell me again how no one thinks that way...

So, tell me what precautions the 11 year old should have taken?
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
I read this earlier today, and I completely agree with it.
If pro life people really wanted to protect babies they would provide REAL sex education in schools, easier access to birth control, lower/no deductible doctors’ appointments, legislation that protects babies/children AFTER birth, etc. But they dont. Because they dont really care about babies, they care about policing a woman’s life.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
Exactly. Actions speak louder than words. If they really cared about children, then show it. @ChampagneOnIce
@ChampagneOnIce Exactly right.

I'm pro-choice because it's none of my fucking business. 🤷‍♂️

Very well said. My body has nothing to do with another one’s body. It is not my place to tell anybody what to do with their own body. They know what is best for them. It is not my business. @LookingForIt987

I just read a story about Ohio and their new abortion laws. Unfortunately, the 11 year old girl who was RAPED is now required to carry that baby to term. It'll go in to appeal so she's probably ok but if it passes through the courts then RAPE VICTIMS will have to suffer because of bullshit in a book of fables.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
Yep. It is a major issue. The fact that this is even decided on by a bunch of men that will never be raped and pregnant, is ridiculous. They don’t care about that 11 year old girl. They care about money and winning. @Ynotisay
Ynotisay · M
@NaturalBeautyQueen It sickens me.

You and me, both. @Ynotisay

@Harriet03 I'm giving it seconds 😧
@SW-User I believe at least a couple have been making the rounds.

I’m pro-choice because I believe the pregnant girl or woman should decide whether or not she wants to risk her life and shed her blood giving birth. No one else, especially if they’re not planning to pay for her prenatal care or help raise her children, should have any say.
roberta · 56-60, M
@bijouxbroussard It is a choice she has to make with her doctors guidance, but but why do we consider it an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy? The pregnant girl has to make a hard choice, but to murder because her life got interrupted is wrong.Even if it is a child of rape, how do we know this child was here because God wanted Her or him to be here and satan put a stop to gods plan?
@roberta Not everyone looks at it from a religious viewpoint. And obviously, not everyone sees it as “murder”.
If one isn’t a theist, none of that is relevant.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
Because it is her body her choice. Just like it is her right whether to believe in God or not. @roberta
roberta · 56-60, M
pro choice ? Does it not open the door to MANY to commit murder? Had this talk with my wife yesterday and and when does the child become a life that has rights and should be protected? Did this child chose to be conceived? I do not wish to offend anyone, but do not wish to play GOD either.
NaturalBeautyQueen · 41-45, F
So in other words, you are right and we are wrong? That is what I got from your comment?

@roberta
roberta · 56-60, M
no, i do not know if i am right or wrong, but like all of us i am trying to learn. What is the point of the POST COMMENT on here if I cannot post one, be honest in my beliefs,and not have people get offended when I do, or other people do when because we do not share the same opinion or belief?
LookingForIt987 · 51-55, M
One of the problems on a site such as this is that it's a text-based medium. So we lose tone of voice and body language when communicating - two very important factors in how we communicate. I can't speak for others, but I didn't take offense at anything you said. So, I guess, let me ask you this question.

Should our laws be based on Christian beliefs? And if so, even when that conflicts with medical science?
Lostpoet · M
I'm pro life but I do know that it's up to the girl on what she wants to do. There's always adoption and other options.
roberta · 56-60, M
We always blame God for our mistakes and bad choices. Why not?, Half of us if not more DO NOT BELIEVE or use this for an excuse to justify our bad choices and mistakes instead of seeking forgiveness thinking if we do not believe the truth it cannot be the truth.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@LookingForIt987 Your point is?
LookingForIt987 · 51-55, M
@Harriet03 Some people would say the top of my head... ;)

My point is that I refuse to imply "[all] Christians don't do facts". Some? Absolutely. Many? OK. All? No, not a chance.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@LookingForIt987 And the 'facts' are?
wintersecret · 41-45, M
It's Me me and me who can choose the best for self.

Not in this world for others.

Good going for u.
