I Love My Kitten

This is Rubi! He’s the new addition to the our family. His story is something worth sharing. We had a neighbor who was unhealthily obsessed with cats. He took 2 off the street & had no clue how to take care of them. When he came to me for advice, the first thing I told him was to ( for the cats sake ) get them spayed, neutered & be sure to have a healthy, clean environment & if he doesn’t or can’t for whatever reason provided that for them than, he shouldn’t have them at all. Anyway, this poor cat gave birth to 3 litters in a year. He had a total of 13 cats in a 5 room apartment. When he wanted to show me the new borns, I went down to his place & I was disgusted & shocked to find that not only was the mother so sick & malnourished, the kittens were shoved in little draws with his filthy clothes. NONE of them were being fed & I know that cause a kitten shouldn’t be 2 pounds at the age of 6 months. I called a rescue group I knew called Cats in the cradle because I saw that these cats were being neglected & abused. They said that the father had cancer, the mother was way under weight, & one of the kittens had a tumor. A month later, I went to visit where they were being taken care of & therefore, fell in love with my baby boy, Rubi! He was nursed back to health & is now starting to eat solid foods. That’s his story.

@RosieQ I understand :(. My mom has had cats and kittens dropped off at her place many of times because owners think, "It's a farm my cat will be a happy camper." But then we're the one's spaying or neutering the pets. My first cat wasn't even old enough to be away from her mom yet and because she's a 'disabled/special needs' cat, bothers me even more.
