I Love the Outdoors and Nature

Life and death on the back roads of northern michigan

Yep . Eagles will eat carrion... you Wouldnt think true of a bird of prey ... but eagles are survivors

@TexChik right.
We have so many deer killed on the roads:(
TexChik · F
@Carlaus too . They will run out in front of anything
Carla · 61-69, F
@TexChik they are just living life. I think while on the move they are oblivious to what might be oncoming.

Nothing like road kill. The UP is a beautiful place to visit so many miles without seeing a thing and the quiet except for the wind blowing.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Shannon27 it is beautiful.

@Carla I like to go up to Whitefish Point where the shipwreck museum is and walk on the beach watching the large ocean liners pass by. It is so peaceful but I do usually end up getting some fudge in the gift shop to eat as I drive around the area.

WOW, 😯he's a big one! I saw a young Hawk rip a Mourning Dove apart at my back yard fence a few summers ago.😔Really bummed me out.💙🕊️

@Peaches nature can be vicious

I hit a deer just about a month ago.
Carla · 61-69, F
I'm sorry,@SW-User Did you get hurt? I Hope not.
They can tear up a car. Knock on wood, but I have never hit one. Many close calls though.
SW-User
@Carla I wasn't going very fast, since I've seen tons of deer cross at that part of the woods.

No major damage this time, but previous deer hits have been worse.

@Stereoguy I'm always happy to see the birds having a meal. We get so many road killed deer here.
