I Love the Outdoors and Nature

One of the most breathtaking places in the world is the eastern Sierra Nevada with its aqua blue alpine lakes and jagged peaks.

These are pics I took a couple of years ago on the Little Lakes Valley trail in Bishop, California.

Mammoth lakes this past summer
SW-User
@melbeacher Very nice!! I love mammoth too!!
Mguinm · 51-55, F
I'm very lucky to live in beautiful CA! Nice pics!
SW-User
@Mguinm Lucky us. It's a wonderful place with so much to see 😀
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
Lovely pictures. It is a nice place, though I prefer the western, coastal, side and the redwoods personally. Both are quite nice.
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@SW-User I've lived out there a few years myself, out by Phoenix, Arizona's much visually nicer than SoCal in my opinion too. The red desert makes for much prettier color contrasts. Though really both do have lots of life, just everything being yellow and brown isn't quite as impressive as the reds and greens and yellows and blacks of the red desert. If you care to look you'll find all kinds of critters out in the Mojave.
SW-User
I lived near Phoenix as well. I miss being able to drive to Sedona on the weekends!!
UndeadPrivateer · 31-35, M
@SW-User Haha, yes. All kinds of fun stuff to go see. My dad, grandmother and I used to go on roadtrips all summer long all over Arizona, Nevada and California so we just generally went around and saw everything. XD Good fun though.

Sah-weet. Nice shots.
And I'm with you about the Eastern Sierra. There's nothing like it. Hiker and backpacker heaven.
Thanks for these. Now I'm Jonesin' for the 395.
Ynotisay · M
@SW-User And I bet every time you drive through Bishop you think, "I wonder if I could live here..." :)
Having that kind of access to the big mountains in your relative backyard would be pretty amazing.
Bishop in the summer? Maybe a little less than amazing.
SW-User
@Ynotisay I've definitely given it some thought but you're right, way too hot during the summer months. But then, I survived living in Phoenix for two years ... hmmm ....
Ynotisay · M
@SW-User 👍

Lake Crowley
SW-User
@river52 Just love that area in general. I've never stopped at Lake Crowley but have definitely driven by on numerous occasions on the way from Bishop to Mammoth Lakes.
river52 · 70-79, M
@SW-User some of the best tasting trout you will ever catch anywhere. Because of the ecosystem, the trout meat turns an orange color after they have lived in the lake for a year or so. You'd think it was Salmon !!
HeyRouben · 41-45, M
Beautiful pictures! Mountains are my weakness! Love climbing.
HeyRouben · 41-45, M
@SW-User Thank you... Believe me l will!
SW-User
@HeyRouben Be sure to post some pics!
HeyRouben · 41-45, M
@SW-User l will.

@SW-User Im in Cali....
SW-User
@SW-User Nice. You're been to the eastern Sierras then?
SW-User
Driven over them, but I’m in a big bad city.@SW-User
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Gorgeous shots. Did you take them?

If that is your name, should I wash out your mouth?
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
nice photographs, i am very artistically inclined including photography. many of my work is on my profile page

how did you come u with your name here?
SW-User
@samueltyler2 Nice...I'll have to check out your work.

The user name is a joke, obviously. I do a lot of driving for my job and when I'm driving, the swear words just seem to spew out continuously lol. Coprolalia sounds feminine and most people have no idea what it is.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@SW-User as a physician I know it well. I helped treat a few cases
RayRay77 · 61-69, M
How pretty. It kind of reminds me of the Sawtooth Mts in Idaho.
SW-User
@RayRay77 wow, just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing. I might have to put that on my list :)
RayRay77 · 61-69, M
@SW-User no problem. The Whitecloud mountains aren’t too far from there either. But don’t get me started... I could go on and on and on
SW-User
@RayRay77 yeah, when it comes to places like that, so can I :)
I went to Yosemite in the 80's. Climbed half dome.
@SW-User way overcrowded
@SW-User everything's gotten worse
SW-User
@WarmAtNight yeah, it's sad
diablo · 46-50, M
There is soooooo much breathtaking beauty all over the Golden State. Thanks for sharing those beautiful pics!
SW-User
@diablo Yes, I feel incredibly fortunate to live in a state with such diversity in the landscape. Thanks for commenting!
YoungDawg66 · 56-60, M
Incredible .... there’s something magnificent about being in nature ... thanks for sharing the pics
SW-User
@YoungDawg66 Thanks, I agree. Nature is healing.
SW-User
SW-User
@SW-User I used to go to climb mountain every weekend but now I stopped.
SW-User
@SW-User yes, there is no photo of a mountain that will ever capture the feeling of being on the mountain...nor the profound beauty
SW-User
@SW-User you should start again
unknownpoetx · 36-40, M

jackson55 · M

SW-User

Stunningly beautiful place. This is why I prefer to be with Nature more so than humans
SW-User
@Gusman It is a very special place. I prefer hiking with one or two other people at most. I'm not a fan of larger groups or too much chatter.
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
Breathtaking photos!!!
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@SW-User I can only imagine. I’ve been to New Mexico and that was pretty awesome.
SW-User
@Ambroseguy80 Haven't been to New Mexico yet but it's definitely on my list. So many places to see with so little time 😀
Ambroseguy80 · 51-55, M
@SW-User exactly. I would love to see more of the Western US
jackson55 · M
Yep, beautiful. I see it everytime I drive or rid though Bishop.
Mysteriousliaisons · 56-60, M
Breath taking
Mysteriousliaisons · 56-60, M
I bet , can’t wait to holiday out that way one day 👍@SW-User
SW-User
@Mysteriousliaisons If you ski then you should definitely visit Mammoth which is also in the eastern sierras. I generally go in the off season when the snow has pretty much melted except in the very high elevations
Mysteriousliaisons · 56-60, M
Yes one of the other reasons I want to get out there .👍 would be nice to feel the sun on my face while skiing instead of blizzards fir a change lol @SW-User
SW-User
Beautiful!!! 👍🏻
SW-User
@SW-User it truly is :)
SW-User
@SW-User beau!!! ;)
river52 · 70-79, M

Gorgeous pics !!
SW-User
@melbeacher Thanks, and they're just a couple of snapshots that can't even come close to conveying the immense beauty of the place 😊
melbeacher · 56-60, M
I have been hiking in Sequoia and Kings Canyon national Park and I agree With you it is stunningly beautiful out there

SW-User
@addicted agreed. I'd be there this time of year if I could but it's still snow-packed at the higher elevations.
SW-User
@penguinswon it really is that kind of a place. Unimaginable beauty.
SW-User
SW-User
@SW-User very much so
