06/14/21 Job Interview

I left to go to interview at 2:35pm interview. It said on google maps it should take 10 mins. I was late my gps was acting up on phone. Got there a 3:10pm instead of 3pm. I know it looked bad but at least it wasn’t longer.I thought maybe they would understand that I’ve never been there. I couldn’t see a sign for the business. All they had was the 6 number address. I wish they had a sign I would have been there on time. I do put a part of the blame on me could have left sooner but thought that it would be easy to locate. Now I just feel really really sad and feel very very stupid 😞 .

i always leave thirty minutes before my projected eta for this very reason. there has been times when i was having trouble even after leaving so early. in this instance i would call and explain what was going on and that i was going to be x amount of time late. they appreciate when you call and let them know. it's okay you live and you learn

Take those in stride, you have to ask-if the business doesn't have their shit together enough to have a decent sign, do you really want to work for them ?

Last time I encountered something like that was dr appointment
New dr to me, they gave me directions to turn at a near-businesss,
After 5 min of searching the area I realized the business where was supposed to turn had not only closed but pulled down their sign
Never went back to dr after realizing they really didn't have their shit together.

Your best bet for any job interview, even before the thing happens, find out where the building is, then drive there from home to see how long the trip takes.

Now you've successfully located the building and figured out how much time it will take to get there. So i always give myself a 20 minute window, just in case there's a snag on the road and i gotta change course.

@twiigss i just look at maps eta and go from there and subtract the amount of time needed to arrive but i always leave thirty mins early because hope for the best prepare for the worst lol

If they don't have a sign up for their business, it's on them. I can't tell you how many times I've missed places because there was no sign, or the sign was concealed.

@SW-User I overpassed it my gps was telling me it was further. A sign would have been helpful. It makes me feel better that it has happen to others just not me.
