I Have Anxiety

I have to take medication for my anxiety or I would not go out the door.

I knew a little boy, the sweetest kid you could ever meet. His parents came into the shop I work and I asked about him. He is now 35. I was so upset to hear he is agoraphobic and will not even look out the window.

Any suggestions?

I don’t know much about this condition but I wonder if it’s more common since the advent of the internet. The bringing the outside world right to your living room mentality. So if you suffer from this maybe it’s easier to deal with it then it used to be. As far as helping, I’m sure the parents have tried all suggestions from professionals. Maybe a visit from an old friend might help!

A good ole talk may help get the gears going. A talk about how his thoughts aren't true. Most people with agrophobia have a false sense of what will happen if they go outside. They have to get rid of those negative thoughts through talks with other people who can let them know their thoughts aren't true.
