I Have Anxiety

I think it's finally getting to me. I just feel so stressed all the time and my thoughts and insecurities won't leave me alone. I'm only good when I'm sleeping but I need time to fall asleep and more than 4 decent hours of sleeping, not to mention less work and studying... Damn, I guess it's time to get rid of it once and for all.

I have extreme social anxiety and my son does as well. Some small tips I’ve learned without medicating:
1. No caffine
2. Eat a good meal before a social meeting or event. Something with carbs and good fats.
3. Learn to do things at off times. (Ex do your shopping really early or after 8pm, same w appointments and other things whenever possible)
4. Take an uber if driving is too hard
5. Keep social situations small. If you have to go to a function if you can, bring a friend to be your anchor or find someone there to stay next to.
6. Read the book “The power of now” by Eckhart Tolle
7. Write about it. Read about it.
8. Get a good night sleep. Schedule it if you have to.
9.Be kind to yourself. Lots of people suffer from this and learn how to live and deal with it.
10 hugs hugs hugs. Hang in there.

Personally I go to counseling for my social anxiety.

It doesn't help in the slightest.

@TeirdalinFirefall That's...very...uhm...realieving, I guess, since I can't go to any counselling. Do you know what triggers it?

Bless your heart. I hope it gets better for you, it takes courage talking about our short comings and I know how you feel. Exercise helps me a lot and yoga helps me calm down if that helps at all. Keep going 💙🕊✨

Wouldn’t it be nice if just determining to get rid of anxiety actually worked!
Melpomene · 22-25, F
@Pfuzylogic Considering it can be quite dangerous for me right now, I don't really have many choices left, do I? And removing most of the stress from my life and getting it under rigid control might actually work.

@Melpomene
We always have choices.
It might be your philosophy of living that some things become mandatory but that attitude is a choice.
Melpomene · 22-25, F
@Pfuzylogic Exactly. and I'm choosing to be the least anxious I can get. Since it's 'all in my head anyway', why not start there? It might be a mindset but it's still better than watching everything fall apart. Ironically, it's my anxiety that's pushing me to do this.
Why do you feel stressed ?
Melpomene · 22-25, F
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline I know I can but right now I'm too tired and you can't force some things. What extras?
@Melpomene what are you doing to overcome your weakness, if you think that you are too sensitive and need to change then what are you doing to change that?
Melpomene · 22-25, F
@SimplyLogicalDiscipline I'm not changing that part lol I'm learning to control my anxiety.

Have you tried meditation or yoga nidra which is a sleep meditation sweetie?
Melpomene · 22-25, F
@Alyce No but thanks for the advice!

That Lack of sleep takes it's toll. Just getting thru to tea time is an obstacle course.

@ExperienceDLT Thanks but I can't take anything that the doctor didn't prescribe me.
Google says it doesn't help if you take it too often and it might make you numb, the dose shouldn't be bigger than 0,3mg.
