I Am a Born Again Christian

The shootings over the last year has meant that our church is discussing the issue of guns inside. Now, to me it's not a big deal as licencing in this state is very strict so I don't worry about safety. It's just hard to face it from a church perspective. A huge chunk of our church are pacifist, including myself, so there's been a lot of personal reflection since Sunday afternoon service.

It's more of a highlight between husband and I considering he's not pacifist and I am. But I've broken my ideals here and there over self defense when I've had to defend myself a few years ago. Plus, when the children I care for or watch over in church are involved that's a different matter.

I think it's good to evaluate where we are as individuals and as a church. We're not of pacifist doctrine so at least there's no worries of congregational strife. Just good to have to question ourselves and where we stand, how it fits in to our faith and all.
