Our youngest was 20 when he completely unexpectedly committed suicide. Needless to say we were shocked. We were pressured into having a memorial for him and hundreds of people showed up despite a severe snowstorm that day. I was talking to my uncle and cousin who both lost children about the loss. My uncle said his 20 year old son's death was a severe scar for about 5 years then 10 years he was OK with the loss. He didn't like it but.... My cousin had a bit of moisture in his eye and said he spends a lot of time in cemeteries and he didn't think he would ever be at peace with the loss of his 17 year old.

@Keepitsimple Life goes on and the family gets together every year at his graveside to celebrate his birthday and joke about the character that he was.
