At my parents’ for the weekend as my husband is away. It is like I have never left as far as my father is concerned! He wants me to wear this old dress for church tomorrow but firstly it is too warm and secondly this is not what a married girl wears!
Obviously your daddy loves you, but does not really want you to grow up, did he help you get dressed for church, and does mommy always agree with what daddy says?
His house HIS rules. As an adult you should've had the brains to KNOW like an adult you don't make the rules if you can't be left home alone. If your husband knows you can't be left home alone maybe he needs to change your wardrobe to show a childish lady. That outfit fits perfect for your EVERY DAY wear and pigtails until you learn to act like an adult.
Tell him thank you but you will decide what you wear. If need be, remind him of scripture that says an adult leaves behind the things of their childhood, and that he or she leaves their parents (parental control) and cleaves to their spouse. Just as man cannot serve two masters, one should not serve/obey a spouse and a parent.
@TheWildEcho I guess it depends entirely on your viewpoint. I think worship is demeaning. I can't comment on the teaching as the closest I've been to that is RS lessons back in the 80s when I was in school. When I was a kid, the people involved in the church were pompous, self-righteous, elderly and very, very far from amazing. I don't know anyone who still does that sort of thing.
@NakedExperiment well i do!yes i remember scripture lessons and how dire they were. Im not pompous,you might think im elderly but my church has around 250 people from 0 to 91 yrs old some really good supportive friends.
