I Have Strict Parents

My parents are strict, but fair. They both work full time, so there have to be rules in place to keep the household running smoothly because their time and energy is limited. We are allowed to discuss and question the rules if we think they are unreasonable or unnecessary, but once they are decided they have to be kept or otherwise there are consequences 馃槦

In the same way there are lots of rules at my boarding school, but we do not often get the chance to question these because there are so many girls and it would be chaos if we all got a say 馃檮 It is quite frustrating sometimes when you have to follow a rule that you know is nonsense. In my boarding house we are allowed to decide some of our own rules as long as there is agreement. The rules we have decided so far are about not wearing shoes in the house and having no talking in the study area 馃檪

Two excellent rules Miss Bear 馃檪 both are common sense too. Plus studying in bare feet helps you concentrate too 馃槉

@TammieBear I bet you join in the fun chaos with the girls. 馃檪

@KatieJ Sometimes, but I am supposed to be the responsible big sister and often this makes me seem like a spoilsport when they are having fun 馃惢

@TammieBear But it鈥檚 for the best 馃槉 otherwise I鈥檓 sure you鈥檇 all get into trouble by the teachers 馃檨

Regardless of the importance, its good that everyone gets a chance to express themselves. It makes for more confidant and responsible thinking that will allow them to become independent thinkers.

@GentleJoe I agree 馃檪 Also, you can't enforce rules through coercion only.

@TammieBear And you shouldn't!

My late parents were strict when I was young however as soon as I was grown up they were very sensible they were only looking out for me.
