I Have Made An Observation

[big]Two random events today[/big]

1. At the gym today, an older gentleman walked in and headed straight to the stationary bicycle wearing a bike helmet with a rear view mirror wound around the headpiece. He kept the gear on and seemed to (at least it appeared to me) regularly check the mirror. When he finished, he used the cable machine with the helmet and mirror still in place on his head. When he left, I wanted to check to see if he was leaving on an (actual) bicycle, but I was in the middle of doing lunges and could not follow him to the door to see how he left.

2. At the grocery store, as I was coming out, a woman drove up and stopped in front of me, rolled down her window, and started talking to me...

"Excuse me. Sorry to bother you. I'm here with my sister; she has diabetes and I just came from taking her to the hospital."

I mumbled, "Hello."

The woman continued... "My sister has diabetes," she repeated. "We had to go to the emergency room and she needed a shot. The last time we went, they gave the shot for free." The sister echoed, "the last time, it was free." She was holding what looked like a travel sized breath spray. It was a blue metallic cylinder.

I mumbled, "Oh no!"

The woman continued... "So, I drove here because it's on the way to a friend of mine who works near here, but she wasn't working today. And..." She hesitated and seemed about to cry. "This is taking every ounce of pride I have. Would you happen to have $13..." Her sister held up the blue cylinder for me to see and reconfirmed, "The last time there was no charge." The woman continued "... to help us out?"

I said, "Sorry, I don't have any cash with me."

She told me, "Have a blessed day."

I repeated, "Sorry...," with my voice trailing off. She drove away and I could see her sister still holding up that blue metallic cylinder as they left the parking lot.

The first one sounds like a prankster. The second one sounds like a scammer.

@SW-User He was an older guy who didn't seem the prankster type. The second one... yeah. It seemed like a scam set-up.

The second type make me nervous a bit. Typical money seeker at hire for sure.
People are strange.

@IAmJess The Doors?
@MarkPaul Huh? No. Just a fact of life.
