I Have a Hypothetical Question

A second chance at life. So I have a hypothetical question. Let's say that science has completely solved the complexity of brain transplants and all age related brain disorders have been solved. And let's say your dad is dying and you are a perfect candidate for a body transplant. Would you give up your life so that your parent has a chance to start a new life. Vice versa between Mom and daughter. Would you do it?

Interesting question. I guess the first would be if my mother wanted this. I would say she wouldn't.馃檪
LostpoetM
@ravenwind43 I don't think she would either.
ravenwind4351-55, F
@Lostpoet I am close to my mom. For her I might consider it however.
LostpoetM
@ravenwind43 that's sweet of you you are a really good daughter. 馃檶
No way. My dad died in 1972 so forget that. I never knew him anyways. I would go down to the Hobo camp (under the bridge) and see if I can get a Hobo who may be willing.
my mum wouldn't want my life!!!
LostpoetM
@SW-User I might remove my penis before giving, wait that doesn't sound right, before. He just can't have my, dammit!馃槨

@Lostpoet 馃槀馃槀 I love you
@Lostpoet i thought about it pretty quickly as i answered... and healthwise, both mum and i have had a rough go out of life for different reasons (i'm not complaining or anything, just trying to explain myself). In the heat of the moment, it would have been easy for me to have gone along with the others who answered "Yes" and i very nearly did - until i realized that, while she may have a more able body to live in, she would also still have to sacrifice other things that she currently is able to enjoy if she wants to keep this body alive and so she would only be trading one set of problems for another.

It sounds like, in a way, my reply got you thinking about the positive things (or in this case, people) that you have in your life, too - which is a good thing because we all need someone who makes the suffering worthwhile. i know that i would be no how if it wasn't for my Sire... though that doesn't mean that i would share Him with anyone, even if it is my own mother and my own body!!!

Tee hee, on that note, i think i'll leave you to try to figure out how you would avoid sharing Lissa with your dad...馃ぃ

not the right thing to do - the aged body will catch up to him / her and they will croak from other organ failures - maybe
canadarmM
No.
It is unnatural for a child to die before its parents. ( and unfortunate when it happens).
LostpoetM
@canadarm Agreed. But what if you want to die and your father is terrified of dying, would you do it then. ?

Not a bloody chance!
Quizzical46-50, M
@Lostpoet Well, for starters he is already dead, and secondly we never really liked each other much anyway...

Oh, and I do have an alibi 馃槒
LostpoetM
@Quizzical I'm sorry about your dad man. Me and my dad aren't on best terms right now too. Let me guess your alibi didn't like him very much either. Lol
Quizzical46-50, M
@Lostpoet No comment, lol
SW-User
Absolutely. Too bad he's already gone. Knowing my Dad, he'd never allow it
MarmeeMarchM
I would take a bullet for them though.
