I Don't Need Drugs and Alcohol to Have Fun

I drank and smoked a lot for four years of my life now if I want to smoke I would ( haven't in years) and drink only a few times a year and only like 1-2 drinks . Life can be awesome without it . And is

Living in a free country, whilst we can't buy alcohol until age 18, people here are legally allowed to drink alcohol from age 5. Many older kids and almost all teenagers here will have drunk alcohol at weddings, New Years etc.

I would have thought that not allowing people to drink until age 18 would make it seem like a "cool" "adult" thing to do and make it seem more appealing? I don't have any stats to back that up.
