More like a strapless gown or a cocktail dress than a standard dress but I understand. Def not for everyday wear.

@SW-User I see. Nothing wrong with that other than they are not that practical. But we need not be practical all the time. I'd rather spend money on fashion I am going to wear out a lot instead of a special occasion dress.
Satin dresses in public are almost a no-no. Satin blouses, silk shirts for him. They are fine and staples of a well dressed person. As for her , or his underthings(underpinnings) they can be satin or not. A silk dress--Ok Now and again.
But you like what you like and that is fine.
