The amazon reviews are a joke though 😡

This book I bought had 4.3 (5) stars ...read one chapter and really wondered who r these people who have given 5 stars ...in this book a prison officer meets her dad her partner and her long lost sibling in the same prison she works ...WTF!!!

Yes OK it's fiction but really come on ...the book"s now in the bin with the author who assumed readers are stupid on my 'not to read list'

@imLobo I removed nothing. That is a direct quote of the entire sentence, poor grammar and all. I do see you went back and edited that comment. You aren't even willing to stand behind what you yourself typed?! You just blew any chance you ever had of ever having any credibility by going back and changing your comment.

You have no way of knowing what amazon's intent was. You also have no way of knowing how their check system for analyzing reviews works. That means you cannot say amazon didn't delete reviews "by intent". Talk about taking a half truth and twisting it to suit you...

Why would the same verified purchaser's review get deleted multiple times "on accident?" How many 5 star reviews by verified purchasers are talking about their previous reviews being deleted?

Well there are more than 1 way the review could have been right:
1. I it is played straight then it simply can be one of those incredible coincidences that can happen in life no matter how absurd they sound and if the writing is good you can take it just as that, a crazy coincidence.
2. Its not played straight but as a metaphor for something and you have to sit through the book to figure it out (maybe the prison is family and you have to work for itand deal with your blood and your partner? Who knows ) .
3. It's oriented to a niche audience and the reviews are from that audience.

I remember looking at the reviews for a camera I was thinking of buying for my son. One had given it one star because they couldn't get it to work? Why? They didn't put the battery in properly.
