I Support Capital Punishment

some murders and child molesters are not fit to live, get it over with within 90 days not years of appeals
Mievain · 26-30, M
Anyone will be forgiven and saved (from hell) if repents and believes in Lord Jesus. Good to know.
xmedleft · 51-55, M
Appeals are supposed to be our way of making sure that innocent people who get wrongly convicted DON'T get executed.
Execution of innocent, falsely accused persons amounts to premeditated murder on the part of the government -- on behalf of the people, thus makes murderers of us all.
In the US we have some states where we've found almost HALF of the death sentences carried out wind up being on people who were wrongly convicted (look into it Texas!)

If I believed that it would prevent someone else from doing the same thing, and if there is NO doubt that the accused was the murderer, then perhaps you could convince me. I have read about too many people on death row or in jail for life who 10 years later are exonerated. It is better to lock them up for life with no chance for parole, than to kill one innocent person.

If there were a way to be 100 chance that the defendant is absolutely guilty, a point could be made. Unfortunately, the data doesn't support cap punish as a deterrent!
it would if they stared emptying death rows all over the world
Julie44 · 51-55, F
I don't mean as a deterrent I mean as justice and yes there would have to be checks and balances but some admit to it and then the fight is over if they will suffer or not not if they did it
@Julie44: they should feel what there victims felt

I think there's one minor issue wth this; the fact that people have been sentenced to death incorrectly. Kinda can't come back from that, seems a little unfair don't you think? lol

I agree in principle.. some of these fecks NEED to go

My discomfot comes from how many people , on death row turn out to me innocent.
to slay the innocent,, is not a solution.

Any crime, that has the potential to burden civilised society with a tax bill or expense bill for the upkeep of a prisoner, after 30 days the prisoner should put down,on his/her knees in front of the victims and his/her own families and watch as the skull is pummelled with a hickory stick r axe Handle then give the prisoners family the clean up bill
JP1119 · 36-40, M
@LUVELACE Wow, what a lovely thought. Anyway, it turns out it’s more expensive to the taxpayer to put the man to death than it is to keep him in prison for the rest of his life.
JP1119 · 36-40, M
But there’s this thing called due process, it makes appeals necessary. I object to the death penalty anyway; however, if you’re going to execute someone, I think you should at least be as sure as humanly possible that he’s guilty.
Heartlander · 80-89, M
It's not that some horrible people don't deserve it, but I think of capital punishment as itself being "pre-meditated" murder. It's easy enough to lock someone up and throw away the keys.
Agreed.. why spend all that money each day
Julie44 · 51-55, F
and let it drag out for 15 or more years
@Julie44: yeah, once the appeals are over.. say goodbye and get it done
dentope3 · M

I agree but also think executions should be at the hands of the victim or the victims closest family.
