I'm Honest and Friendly
So, while I was just finishing typing up my last story - mentioning how I feel my neighbor's have improved over the years and now I really like many of them.... I got a phone call from one of them!
I was called by my neighbor, Tony, and he is working right now. He is a younger guy - in his 20's and he is already married to Brianna. They are Mexican, and it seems like they really appreciate family a lot more, and are eager to settle down and start their own families - at least in my limited experience.
So, he's actually a bit younger than I am, probably 8 years, but he is well ahead of me in terms of family and things like that. I am still single and childless, whereas he is married and has 2 little children already. Go him!
Anyway, so he called me just now - his wife had locked herself out of the house. He asked if I would lend her a ladder, so she could find her way inside. I told him I was very happy to help, but that if it's ok with him, I'd prefer to do the climbing and entering myself. It's not that I don't think she COULD do it, but I know I'd prefer to do it. I just hate seeing people get hurt and I know I am used to climbing ladders and I have decent body awareness.
So, I told him I'd head right over - and I grabbed my ladder and put on some shoes and told my dog, "I'll be right back."
She was waiting for me, and was super thankful that I appeared quickly. I noticed she had her two little boys in the minivan already and she was headed to the store. She just locked the keys inside by accident - a pretty common mistake around here. I know I have done it myself already once this week.
That's pretty much it. I climbed in and unlocked the door. Then I put my ladder away and walked back home. She thanked me, and I was glad for it. I mentioned that if she ever needs me that she can just come and hammer on my door - in case she doesn't have her phone or cannot contact her husband. It's always him that calls me and I just want her to know she could ask for help too, and she'll get the same results.
I hope everyone else is having a good day! I enjoyed mine so far.
