@SW-User Hey. Don’t be depressed. Life can be beautiful. “A Winter’s Journey” is just a poem.

@helenS I'm not... but those words are quite telling
And you're so right!
And you're so right!

I like Spike Milligan's epitaph: See? I told you I was ill!

So why do you want to leave a stranger .. .. Out living others .. .. offending all ..
helenS · 36-40, F
@Pop0159: This wasn't meant to offend anyone.
Meaning is: I have never felt at home on this lonely planet, and I never will. Just footsteps in the snow, gone next spring when the winter journey is over.

@helenS: now I understand ...
@Pop & @helenS What sort of footprints or other traces would you like to leave?
We regarded it as a big accomplishment if we could "Leave No Trace" after we departed from a campsite. I am not so sure others benefit from most traces that we might possibly leave behind. Sculptures can last a long time and some are beautiful. Operas and musical compositions can last forever. I am not sure duration is a measure we should employ. The question is important and whichever way we go, it is perhaps why artists resonate with the Christian promise of a permanent life. No lonely souls in heaven.

I want written on my grave: Man of a kind, lived by the moment and didn't care for the past or worry about future.
helenS · 36-40, F
@SolidHeart Man of that point in time, at that point in time.
SolidHeart · 46-50, M
@helenS yes that too.
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
Nice, but here is the epitaph I want on my gravestone:
He is STILL with you!
He is STILL with you!
helenS · 36-40, F
@polyandrym66 Is this a message that is intended for a special individual?
polyandrym66 · 70-79, M
@helenS If it applies....
MartinII · 70-79, M
That's great. But a bit early to be thinking about your gravestone, I hope.

So you're a stranger?
Are you not of this world? Lol. You know that's in the Bible... as well...
