almost 2 days since i quit and only had one black n mild. yay! i'm doing really good i think. think it's going to take this time!! yippee! panic feeling is gone..
Like with drinking, don't tell yourself you quit forever. You just don't smoke that cigarette NOW. And then you don't smoke the next one.
Keep hard sour candies. Mint toothpicks. Think of the clothes you won't burn holes in. The stink you won't stink. The panic when the pack is empty. The desperation of a cig and no lighter.
You get through a night's sleep without them. You visit hospitals without them.
If you need it, my husband got himself a book called "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" by Allen Carr. He quit the next day and hasn't gone back. That was 10 years ago.
I quit more than ten yrs ago, I smoked more than two packs a day... I just took it one hr at a time.. I would tell myself I can go another hr without a smoke.. then keep that up.. I used the patch for 3 days then said fuck it.. I am done with it.. once you get by the first week it does get easier.. does it ever go completely away? no.. but if you have good support it really is easier than you might think
