I Quit Smoking

One week without them,I really feel reborned.Food and drinks got a taste and I feel like a have a nose again.I still don't know what to do with my hands though, getting tempted in stressful situations. Also, feels awkward when on a brake at job and do...nothing while others smoke.Hope I can make it thru, got thru bad part I guess, need some adjustment.I even forgot how I lived before cigarettes.Time will tell I guess, set myself at least 2 weeks period.

You can do it! The first weeks are always the hardest. You've done well. You are free.
Google solutions on how to "replace" smokes, if I could say that. Perhaps a stress ball? Or channel the energy into something productive/creative/etc when you can?
All the best
Already doing it,visiting gym,it helps indeed.Kinda worn out atm,but I guess it will better.

I did both cigarettes and all alcohol a year ago. It's your mind that will get you through. Train yourself to end urges right away. As soon as you get a craving, say to yourself firmly, "I don't smoke anymore." Replace the oral fixation with fruit or water.

Working out is great. You can also use the patches to help. They come in declining strengths. After 6-8 weeks of assistance, you should be all set.

You'll win. Just take charge. Quitting is a statement, not a question!

Actually, I found the cigarettes to be easier than beer. I turned 55 last week. I've been a beer drinker since age 16. In my later years, I would drink between 3-8 beers an evening to take the edge off. The average was probably 5-6. I still miss drinking and partying, but by doing it too much I ruined a good thing. Quitting both at the same time was hard, but I had a very caring support staff: family, dr., nurse practitioner and therapist. I was told the success rate would be 5%. I despise being told something isn't possible.

I still think about it occasionally because I'm a sports fan. The TV tends to bombard you with beer commercials and the party environment of having friends over.

Whatever, no one needs to shed a tear for me. I started it. I ended it.

However, if you'd ever like more than the surface description I've given here, I'd be happy to help, genuinely. PM me any time and I'll give you the exact steps, physically and mentally, that I did to succeed.

You'll quit when the time is right. There are many things to make it easier too. Start to slow down s bit first. Start a workout regimen first. Both will help. I can fill in the blanks when you want me to.

Be well!

Great job!!! Keep up the hard work! That is good that you are setting small goals for yourself like the 2 weeks period. Maybe while your on your break out your feet up and rest a moment with a quick soda, take a quick walk. I'm so proud of you! Keep of the hard work! Have a great day!
Thank you for support,it really mean a lot.first 3 days were hell, sort to speak, glad I'm over it,small goals works best for me,rock by rock...
