I Am Thankful
My sweetheart brought over a Thanksgiving turkey with garlic butter he made and green bean casserole, plus twice baked potatoes. He brought the food over here because my step father is house bound with severe COPD and he brought it all in the rain bless his heart.
Everything was so delicious and my goodness I am truly a fortunate woman. My step father joked and said to him, "You will make a great wife someday" lol. As I did housework for them yesterday he told me the same thing lol.
We cracked jokes, laughed, told some great family stories. Took goofy pictures and then a family member pulled a trick on us. John and I grabbed a huge turkey leg and both put it in our mouths and smiled for a picture, but Jamie wasn't taking the picture and this posing went on forever and I said please hurry! My mouth was starting to cramp up. Jamie said to us "Okay now kiss with the turkey in your mouths" and by this time John and I both cracked up and he's still not taking the picture and I'm on the floor practically laughing lol. Then come to find out he videoed John and I the whole time!! That dirty bird lol. It was hilarious though. You really had to be there to see the humor.
Then when Jamie was talking about losing a tooth at Walmart and searching for it on the ground (you might be a redneck if you are searching for a tooth at Walmart he chimed). The topper at the end of the evening I was holding this little baby Jesus with a white blanket that went into a manger that mom handed me. She was putting up the Christmas stuff and Jamie saw the white little bundle and he shouted "Hey is that my tooth?" Lol!!
After everyone left John and I wanted some alone time. As soon as we stepped into his truck we fell in a mad embrace and kissed. He is the most passionate man I've ever known in my life. Maybe because he's half Italian I don't know but the guy is super romantic and quite honestly he makes my previous relationships look like childs play.
We memorized a scripture passage and I commented that I couldn't concentrate on it at the time because my mind goes blank sometimes around him. I'm so focused on him. We started to memorize the lines but then I noticed he was challenging me right before my eyes. He would kiss me while i was reciting and kept kissing me to see if I could focus on it. It took awhile but eventually I got it! Lol. Oh he makes Bible study fun!
Words whispered, eyes longing, feeling his heartbeat near mine, opening up on deep personal matters, I felt so incredibly close to him tonight not that I haven't always but tonight closer than ever.
