I Am a Tattoo Artist

Today has been the most frustrating day. We can go six months without days like this, but today has been an exceptional nightmare. Staff are fighting, one customer turns out to be a stalker and the autoclave stopped working at 4, so no clean grips for tomorrow morning and back to disposables. I’m about ready to run away.

Owning a studio isn’t always this bad, but if you tattoo for a living or own a studio, I you have my sympathy!

Well, thankfully not everyday is the same, I know this from my own workplace. Sometimes, everything goes wrong but next day, it was already better! Btw, how long do you have your studio already?

Haha no, just the two! I opened my first one 7 years ago and my second 3 years ago. Nobody in their right mind would juggle as many as that. Two’s more than enough!

I don't know how much an autoclave costs, but can you get a cheap backup? Like a small/quick to use kind of deal.

Also, hugs to you, small business ownership has its days.

Thanks, Ace. I have a great friend who also owns a studio and offered help with another one until I have mine fixed. I always have back-ups of disposable grips, just in case but it’s always better to have the tools you feel comfortable with. I had my first autoclave in my loft until 3 months ago. Sod’s law!

Some days are certainly better than others but nothing a big glass of whiskey won’t fix! @AceWarbringer

No, it certainly doesn’t. Technical failures are bad luck, but mediating a gang of creatives is near impossible! I sat in my office this morning and was grateful for the autoclave breakdown. I think it had enough, too. The peace today has been bliss!
