I Hate People Who'S Lives Revolve Around Social Media

Instagram and Tumblr has the potential to critically harm your self-esteem as they promote 'the perfect body' - but the perfect body that they promote is fake; it is photoshopped, unrealistic and an illusion that young girls and guys have succumbed to. Either that or they promote sickly thin girls who are anorexic and people see anorexia as a form of diet or competition to 'look good'. Victoria's secret models have 6ft girls who are only 50kg, and only accepts girls who have 23-25 inch waist with a height of 5'9-6ft. I'm only 5'1/5'2, 41 kg and have a 25 inch waist - is that something to be ashamed of? Absolutely not, because I am within my BMI range and I'm not starving myself to death. So why does social media promote false advertisements and unhealthy advertisements of sickly thin girls? Other girls will see this as the perfect body and will do anything to achieve it i.e. eat and purge and develop anorexia and bulimia as a result. The result is not worth it.

People forget that the real attraction to someone comes from their personality

@jaymic64 it does, and it also depends on how 'real' or 'human' they are

Its been that way for years. Educating your kids is the best thing to do. Ive actually seen more gorgeous women at the local mall than i have on social media, even with the plastic surgery and photoshop.

@DarkSideoftheMoon yes I believe educating the younger generation that their self esteem should NOT stem from Instagram or Tumblr because people will do anything to post nudity/sexual pics for attention!
