I Do Not Wear a Watch

This is something that I used to do every day. When I was younger, you had to have a watch if you wanted to be cool. You were super cool if your watch had the date on it. Mine didn't have the date, but it had a button that lit up the numbers. The other kids loved that. That was the "big kid" equivalent to light-up shoes. I no longer wear a watch. I don't see many people wearing watches these days. I also don't see them wearing those smart watches, but I live in the southeast. We're a little behind on technology... and pretty much everything else.

I think I lived during a time before digital watches were very popular. They existed but no one I knew owned one---probably too expensive. So if you saw a child with a watch they actually knew how to tell time. I owned a basic Timex back then. Today I don't wear a watch either---I check my cell phone.

I like my phone, but sometimes I miss carrying around a watch and a daily planner.
