WOW !!!

Had an interview this morning for an 'apprenticeship' in Business administration within the NHS.

Wasn't impressed.

They got back to me just now wanting to offer me a place on the course for 12-18 months
(what sort of organization doesn't know if it's 12 or 18 months ?) at a pay rate of £6.5K

Not sure whether to laugh or cry ??

It's obviously a con. A chance to link the employment service to the national Health Service and call 'apprenticeships' a win for both sides.

Business Admin./Business Admin.Assistant/Management team leader etc.

Welcome to 21st century Britain.

@firefall I'm a fully qualified psychologist and Social-Worker. Just finished a thirty year career and now need to go do something else.

@Picklebobble2 sorry, I meant the organisation, not you. I admire your pluck at trying something new at this point in life.

@firefall Times like this i wish i had the balls to just chuck a bag in the back of an old car and just disappear !

the variable time length might depend on how well you do, i.e. anyone who doesn't fail any section or module finishes in 12 months, but you can fail some & have up to 18 months to complete?

#6.5K isn't much, but I guess for a training course/apprenticeship it's ok

an apprenticeship at your age? comeon how much of a shitty situation are you in
the last thing the nhs needs is more admin. what they need are competent doctors and gp's.
