psychology and current times

with evolution of psychology as a study and more and more terms out in the open everyone feels they are part of some shit..ptsd or something or the other ..it was way better when one didnt know these existed ..life was simpler and less complicated ..

You mean back when the mentally ill were just shut up in institutions and forgotten about? Or further back when they were accused of being possessed? Or when they were chained to walls, bled and doused with cold water?

That's a poor and unfortunate stance to adopt.

PTSD was termed shock shell disorder and it always existed.

A good question would be: Do being aware and categorising a mental illness, have a negative effects on the person?
Sometimes yes, other times, no.

Perhaps people were less outspoken about their true feelings for fear of being stigmatized. I don't think life has never been less complicated.
