How can 2000 calories a day possibly be recommended?

I could never eat that much a day without gaining weight. I could only eat 1575 a day without gaining weight.

it depends on your current weight, height and activity. 1575 is extremely low. you should be like.. 4'2" or something.

@DeadCowboy: I can eat 1690 but that's with exercising 5 times a week for about 45 minutes. Must have something wrong with me.

@PaleandPolluted86: if you undershoot calories, your body will react oddly and start storing everything it can. it's a weird mix.

@PaleandPolluted86: no that sounds about right if you are around 164 cm-ish tall, not over weight and have an active life!

I can eat more than that in a meal and I'm underweight for my height.

@VioletRayne: I also walk like 5 miles a day and don't eat any animal products.

At 6'1", i'm holding my own at 150 lbs... and consuming over 4,000 per day... almost 200 grams of protein... Radiation and chemo can do that to you.

That calls for a lot of working out
PaleandPolluted · 36-40, F
@lockedupforgood: I know but apparently that's what an average woman should have hmmm...
MasterofNone · 26-30, M
@PaleandPolluted86: Because a lot of working out is what an average woman should do hmmm...

@Twiddles: someone who has an active life could get away with it I guess.
