So what is an excellent diet for losing ten pounds quickly?

i only do intermittent fasting accidently...i forget breakfast or lunch on occasion. i have read about the Dash diet and the Mediterranean diet. those two are just your run of the mill..."eat correctly and get plenty of exercise" crap that we already know about. is there a delivery meal service or something specific besides Nutrisystem?

@LILY61 hope it helps also keep vitamin supplements and try to add seeds like flax and chia as they are good for your heart,especially if you reduce your meats. Our meats ,or most meats unless if you have your own farm and grow them yourself,are highly polluted with antibiotics and poor animal feed, so it is really toxins you put in your body . But animals still offer nutrients that are hard to find in alternatives so be careful and any dietary change that you make make sure it suits your body and needs. Good luck ❤

@LILY61 I understand. My mom is 63, obese with heart problems and diabetes. She lost 13 kg (~28 pounds) in 7 months by restricting calories. I help her with counting em. It could've been faster but at this rate she doesn't feel like depriving herself and can continue to lose more. Ten pounds isn't much. You can do it. Maybe give yourself 2-3 months for starters. Time goes fast. I wish you all the best ma'am 🌷

I always found counting calories to be the most efficient (and free) system. I lost 52 pounds within the last year by eating no more than 1,000 calories. I guess if you’re in a pinch, you can eat less than that and up your exercise. It all comes down to calories in and out. There’s no other science behind that.
@MorbidCynic thanks...i thought your body goes into starvation mode when you eat less than 1200 calories a day... plus i am old....my exercise consists of taking a walk to the post office. but i am watching my calorie intake so thank you for your support
@LILY61 I personally dealt with anorexia and ate as low as 200 calories a day and never dealt with “starvation mode” (and like most former anorexics I later dealt with binge eating 😅). I think you have to eat very low calories for a rather prolonged period of time to actually go into starvation mode. I am no doctor but I feel like that goes around to scare people away from under eating.
@MorbidCynic if you were eating less than 200 calories a day...you were in starvation mode. your body starts eating itself away. you lose water and muscle and your body starts to shut down. when i moved out on my own for the first time i stopped eating all the crap that my family used to eat. i wasn't eating enough food though and i became like an anorexic. i wanted to eat but everything made me sick. i got below 100 lbs in no time.

I tried something called slimpod which is basically subconscious suggestion, and that worked for a bit until I got fed up of the person's voice. I've signed up to Noom now which may help but it is a slow and steady type system but it says it can help me lose 3 stone by end of October...

military diet. lose three pounds in ten days. you have to follow it to a T. and it's unhealthy so only do it if you are seriously needing to lose weight fast for something like the military, a wedding, vacation, or for some kind of surgery

@LILY61 It's not healthy, but for a quick fix it'll work. If you want to maintain the loss then have a protein heavy diet and just low carb intake.

Smaller portions and check the calories.
To get proper nutrients, aim to get in a lot of healthy green veggies.
