Do you think this is inconsiderate?

Co worker asked me a question as I passed her doorway, so of course I stopped to listen as she gave me some info.

She had been sneezing all morning.
I noticed her voice sounded different so I ask about it.

Her response "I could be sick, or it could be allergies".

I playfully said "could you grab your mask then, I don't want to be sick"

Her **(playful tone): "you're in my office and asking me to put on a mask? You can call me on the phone and you'll be safer"

My thoughts are that we are still in a pandemic. If you feel like you could be sick, and there is a mask sitting right next to you, why not put it on for the sake of MY health and the health of those around you, while you are in the presence of others?

She seems very inconsiderate of the lives of others.
deadgerbil · 22-25
Very inconsiderate of her and pretty rude
spjennifer · 56-60, T
Does the building have central AC? If so, her germs if she's indeed sick, are being pushed into the rest of the building by recirculated air whether she's "alone" in her office or not. Everyone who's working indoors with others should be wearing a mask so yes, it's very inconsiderate of her and pretty stupid too...

Your co-worker is a poo for brains b-i-witch. March down to HR and tell them what happened, and then she will stop trying to pick your brains while sneezing on and dissing you.

if it were me i'd mention it to your supervisor. better safe than sorry.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@bugeye nah, I'll just stay away. We aren't buddy buddy but we do have to collaborate every once in a while
bugeye · 26-30, F
@iamnikki and if those collaborations end up putting your health at risk?
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@bugeye I'll just use the phone like she said. I won't be in there

I don’t wear a mask but would in that situation. It’s likely she is having a bout of spring allergies. Mountain cedar trees are producing a huge amount of pollen right now in southeastern Oklahoma and the winds can blow it up here and down to Texas too depending on which way it blows.

@whowasthatmaskedman I just got back from grocery shopping in the next city, about a third of the people shopping were not wearing masks today. Previously it was just a small hand full. It’s a locally owned chain store and no mask mandate by that city

@cherokeepatti What can I say? These are your countryfolk. Please just protect YOU..We have not had a single case in weeks and masks will be the rule in crowds, in shops and theatres and on public transport until the vaccination roll out is complete. Its a small enough price to pay to have everything running and keep covid out.😷
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@whowasthatmaskedman haven’t worn a mask yet

If she thinks she might be sick, "playfully" refusing to simply put on a mask is at the very least...inconsiderate.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
I don't blame you. She should be wearing her mask if she's sick and she's around others. Doesn't matter who's office she's in.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@DearAmbellina2113 right, to clarify though, I was in hers. I'm usually not in anyone's office unless like in the above example, I get stopped in passing.
Elessar · 26-30, M
I'm wearing a FFP2 8h/day everyday precisely because I'm done with that kind of people. They're also rather affordable now.
My response? "aww you don't have to call yourself a dick like that. Let me do it for you:)"
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
Yes, inconsiderate... of her.

She doesn't own her office.

@missbeez yes I did walk in her office, because she asked me a question. Then I noticed her voice. Yes, I always wear mine. Why? Because I'm considerate of others
ViciDraco · 36-40, M
