If you have arthritis or muscle pain what topical treatment do you use?

I got some Biofreeze gel this week and it’s effective. Has a bit of a menthol odor but so long as it’s effective I don’t mind
Nimbus · M
An Epsom salt bath may provide pain relief and reduce swelling in people living with certain types of inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, and psoriatic arthritis. Low levels of magnesium can ease the pain in people with arthritis.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Nimbus I take a good type of magnesium but Epsom salt soaks are good too. Used to take them after working or walking a lot in the heat when I’d sweat out my minerals and get leg cramps
AbbeyRhode · F
I have a pinched nerve between my shoulders, and I've had good luck with Australian Dream.
Driver2 · M
@AbbeyRhode why impossible?
AbbeyRhode · F
@Driver2 Social distancing, plus it's too expensive.
Driver2 · M
@AbbeyRhode got it ,
TexChik · F

This stuff works pretty well . Salonpas 4% lidocaine patches work well too
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik I just found 3 free samples of that in my bathroom stash of freebies
TexChik · F
@cherokeepatti The blue stuff?
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@TexChik yes Blue Stop
nedkelly · 61-69, M
NONE - just tough it out
MARTAisback · 22-25, F
@nedkelly ✌️
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@nedkelly I toughed it out a long time while I was working and that gets old. Not gonna rough it out any more, I need my sleep and rest
exexec · 61-69, C
"Two Old Goats"...Really, I'm not kidding.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@exexec I wish they had it in the medical card catalog, I would try it
exexec · 61-69, C
@cherokeepatti You have to get it at the hardware store or online.
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
I'll use CBD, I do have various CBD topicals but wasn't impressed so I use the oral paste topically and that does the trick.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@AntisocialTroll I’ve used CBD oil but was spending ableist $200 a small bottle for the good stuff
AntisocialTroll · 56-60, F
@cherokeepatti That is the problem, it works but isn't affordable at the dose that works for me, frustrates the hell out of me to both find something so impressive at killing my pain and that is so benign it does me no harm but despite that it's illegal for me to produce my own!
forty7seventy4 · 46-50, F
Biofreeze, that's some good stuff.
I used to get that for free.
Now that I don't, I take a hot bath and I use some cheap dollar store stuff that does the trick.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@forty7seventy4 I got it with my insurance medical card
SweetMae · 70-79, F
Biofreeze is very effective. I don't have arthritis but I use Lidocaine patches when my back hurts
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SweetMae I may order some of those
SweetMae · 70-79, F
@cherokeepatti Epsom Salt soaks as @Nimbus suggests helps me too.
carpediem · 61-69, M
Voltaren. In the states you can buy it over the counter at a 1% solution. I use a 2% solution I stock up on when I'm in France or Germany.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
Normally lidocaine patches, Walgreens has order free pain relief cream
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@MarineBob I can get them with my insurance medical supply card. Already used the one I got this quarter but will get a new card in April, they have several brands of patches in the catalog
Fishy · F
I usually just use a hot water bottle
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Fishy hot showers are good too
Fishy · F
@cherokeepatti or baths with Epsom salts 😅
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@Fishy I just got 16 pounds of Epsom salts this week with my insurance medical supply card so I can soak in the tub. Got a tube of Biofreeze too
Ferric67 · M
Doterra Dep Blue works great, and I've tried many of these products
