I have a round face and a recessed chin

Actually, I don't really mind for myself, I like to look into mirror especially when I'm in a good mood and I have never thought much about looks, I've always considered myself average.

However, in last months, I've realised that for most of the poeple, for example in forums or when I'm looking for a new haircut or how to do make up, round face and recesed chin are always seen as very ugly features. They need to be hidden, corrected, I'm supposed to countour my face, draw attention to my eyes, choose another haircut so that my face would be more oval, very often poeple write someone with recessed chin should consider a surgery...

With all these body positivity movements toward plus size and overweight poeple (which is something you can control way more than face features...), why are poeple so judgmental towards poeple who look like me?

If you're reading 'very often' that anyone should consider surgery you should find new reading material.

I've never seen anything like that. Facial surgery is a very personal, individual decision that should never be based on what others think. You were born with a spine - use it.

You can't generalize. I don't think "all people" are judgemental in this regard... But if you check forums/videos/articles about "beauty", these are more likely to have an "ideal of beauty" that "must be corrected". Also, beauty professionals (hairdressers, makeup artists, plastic surgeons, etc) have a vested interest in convincing people that there's something that must be fixed (they make a living out of this). But that's just them, and a few others that buy into that... Not "all people" for sure... Everyone has their own preferences ("beauty is in the eye of the beholder")

Well there is a debate about how much control people have over how they lose weight and different schools of thought what that means.

That's the problem we either put people down saying at least I am not that or we hate ourselves for what are based on others judgmental standards, niether are very good ways to handle low self esteem.

I don’t think the woman on the left is less attractive than the woman on the right. I’m sure you are gorgeous the way you are

@Jasondf well the girl on the right has make up on and a lot smoother skin, and she is younger
every person is beautiful and unique in his or her way, sorry some people are judgemental

People who are worth your time are not judgmental like that.

I've seen some girls in class with recessed chins and I find it interesting. If they have a beautiful face with a recessed chin then I wouldn't say that it makes them any less beautiful. However an already ugly woman with a recessed chin will make it even worse.

I don't think anyone should fake their appearance, especially if they don't want to. Work with what you got.
