What Can You Do?

According to my health department, I shouldn’t be having any in person contact at all because I’m higher risk for serious complications. That’s all well and good, but how am I supposed to get groceries (and as I found out yesterday, it’s impossible to keep 6-feet apart when the store is full)?

You have to order deliveries a week in advance, and then they say most items are out of stock, even though they are not. I suppose they could be in a week. The pick up services are overwhelmed, and no longer have times available, so that means shopping for myself. I just hope my N95 mask keeps me safe. I saw lots of older people shopping, yesterday, and all wearing some kind of mask.

You need to use common sense, and not allow the fear to consume you. If you do research and adopt a policy specific to you based upon safety guidlines outlined by healthcare professionals, not piliticians, you will be fine. God bless

I’m doing this. I isolated myself and kept my distance long before we were advised to. @DonHobag

Keep trying the pick up or delivery options. Yes, you have to plan ahead; and some of the stores are flooded with orders and things don’t happen smoothly and quickly - yet.

Key word, “yet.” I think they’ll work the bugs out fairly soon, and then it will be a much smoother process.

Institutions and systems CAN change and adapt if they have to. On Monday March 16, people at my office were told working from home was not going to happen for us.

By Thursday the 19, we all had laptops issued by our employer and were logging in from home.

Institutions and businesses can change, if there’s enough pressure on them.

True. I gave up with delivery, and shopped myself. Now, I see they have deliveries available again, and with the products I want. It’s ever changing, and you have to keep trying, and order well in advance. @SmartKat

The grocery store here limits how many people can go in.

@Carissimi not too bad actually
Wish I could deliver to you if you were in my town in California.

Thank you. 🙏 @Vivaci
@Carissimi You could check out nearby grocery stores if your store doesn't have the said item. 🤗🤞

I do. We have four main grocery stores here, and a couple of smaller ones. I go online and check them all. I’m okay for now for about 3-weeks, except I will run out of dairy, and bread before then. @Vivaci

Make sure you wash your hands or sanitize when returning from the store, avoid touching your face or mouth. Wife is a nurse, when she comes home, she goes straight to the laundry and tosses her clothes in to wash, takes a shower and then come in to cook or watch TV.

Where I live, they only allow 10 ppl inside a store...u can get food delivered!

Do you have family who could do your shopping for you?
DonHobag · M
Are you in the States?

With great planning and attention to detail

The virus is smaller than 3 microns, and you are right about this. However, and according to medical experts, the virus does not travel alone. It is within a droplet of water, which makes the whole part too big to travel through the mask. Now, is it possible it can travel without the droplet? I don’t know. I suppose it’s possible, but generally it’s suspended in a droplet which makes it at least 3 microns. Regardless, the mask offers more protection than a bare face.
I don’t use my phone when out. It stays in my bag, and I sanitize my bag when I get home, along with my keys, my car, and everything else I’ve touched.I may as well wear a hazmat suit. @MartinTheFirst
MartinTheFirst · 22-25, M
@Carissimi Even a hazmat suit is useless in some cases unless you clean it before exiting it. I wish you all the best.

This is a problem I have although I’m not really at risk. A friend of mine keeps telling me to stay in but the shopping still has to be done 🤗
