Corona virus vaccine for Americans only?

According to German daily "Die Welt" the United States and Germany are vying to produce an exclusive vaccine against the coronavirus which is being developed in a German laboratory, Die Welt reported Saturday.

The report says the experimental drug would be ‘only for the United States’.

According to the paper, US President Donald Trump is trying to poach German scientists working on an experimental vaccine against a global health threat that has now killed some 5,500 people with a view to having an exclusive licence rolled out in the United States.

Such a vaccine would be “[u]only for the United States[/u],” a source close to the German government told Die Welt, though Berlin would reportedly look to make offers of its own to biotech firm CureVac, based in the German state of Thuringia.

[b]Important Update[/b]: It was confirmed by the German government that Mr Trump was trying to persuade the company to move to the US to be able to reserve the vaccine for US citizens only.

It’s embarrassing for me but yes, the USA is under the control of someone that does business this way. I didn’t vote for this criminal, neither did anyone I associate with, I’m hoping that he loses next November along with his GOP enablers and can then be prosecuted for several criminal actions. We can hope, but for now the United States is really messed up.

@BobbieT i respect human life and do not worship money over life. I believe in the usa which is more than i can say of him. Read up how he cancelled the 12 million dollars a year that was set aside for diseases such as this b4 all this happened. Cutting the budgets, sure, tell that to the dead. @bijouxbroussard There appear to be two cultures in the US, one is progressive, one is regressive (psychological sense of the word). The regressive one is represented by Mr. Trump. I do not know who represents the progressive culture in America.

once again, absolute and utter bullshit. The company working on the vaccine has facilities in both Germany and Boston. The US wanted to inject $1B into their efforts. Anyone furthering this misinformation is part of the problem and the German reporting is certainly suspect considering their current reporting of cases.
