Would you go to the ER for this?

I have had a lot of problems with passing blood in the toilet. I was on meds that caused me to have gastrointestinal bleeding. I have not taken any more of it. Now I am having problems again with bleeding. I really don't want to go back in again because I know what is going to happen. I don't like men touching me let alone doing that type of exam. Yes I am a guy and I would rather have a lady. Not for the idea a lady will see me. I am just a lot more comfortable with women. I am sure that I am not the only one with preferences on what gender I get examined by. I have let this go for 4 days now and still pass blood. I really don't like the cleaning out procedure. I have not eaten since the 3rd. I am fairly certain that I cant have that much left in me. I get hella nervous and that makes everything worse. From my stomach to my bulging disks in my neck and then here comes the migraine. For all of you who don't know... Invisible illness sucks..

UPDATE.... I made it to the ER and got checked out by the doc. I hate being right in my assumption that they are wanting to keep me and do a colonoscopy. I knew it... hell I even put together a duffle bag with extra clothes and the like. I do appreciate every one's advice though. Thank you all.

@ColoradoKid Well, it's better that they check everything out, hope the results are good fella 🤗

If you are bleeding profusely from anywhere that you shouldn't be then get yourself to the hospital
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
@Quizzical It literally looks like someone got cherry koolaid and poured a concentrated amount in the toili. It's not gushing by any means. If it was I would be running to the bathroom every 10 minutes. So IDK how profuse I am bleeding.

@ColoradoKid Well, in my personal opinion, the exact amount of 'normal' bleeding people should have is NONE.

Go to the ER

Look, if something is so bad that it gets you thinking "Should I go to the ER" You probably should.
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
@tutku I am a somewhat typical man. Lol. I already see too many docs. They know me really well because of previous visits. And having chronic migraines and M.S. and all of the rest I am honestly tired of it all.
If you are shitting blood you have a serious problem. You need to go to the ER ASAP. They can give you something for your anxiety there.
tutku · 26-30, F
@quitwhendone Lol I don't wanna be gross or too TMI but passing blood in stool is somewhat of a natural occurance in people with chronic digestive illnesses. If that stuff is in waterfalls however then yeah it is a problem.
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
@tutku I have never been diagnosed with any digestive illnesses. Today may be when I get that added to my growing list of illnesses.
@tutku And you can bleed to death through your gut.

Pretty sure everyone agrees my friend. Stop what you are doing an head for a clinic or ER. I understand your fears and frustrations but everything will be more complicated and unpleasant the longer you wait.

Similar Worlds is NOT the forum for seeking advice for what is obviously a serious medical condition. Consult a physician at an urgent care facility or go to the emergency room as soon as possible.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Get yourself to the doc. If you end up getting rushed in a lot of pain ..believe me...you wont care who it is that helps you...as long as they do.
I hope it gets sorted soon x

@RubySoo Are you from Britain love? I told my mum the other day that I needed to get petrol in my lorry. She looked at me like I was speaking French. I honestly don't know how or when I started getting the wording for British people. I have stomach pain like bad constipation. It has nothing on the pain that a migraine causes.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@ColoradoKid yes im British. But no matter where im from....you need to see a doctor.
indyjoe · 56-60, M
Male doctor or female doctor...doesn't matter. Put that aside and get yourself checked immediately, you could have a bigger problem looming.
as I understand it, that's the kinda thing you should have been in an ER a couple days ago for.
Get to the doctor. You can not ignore this.
I know all about invisable illness and it sucks. I dont dont know much about your condition if I were you I would go straight to the doctors. Plz do if you value your health. Ask for a female doctor theres never a real problem with that unless there is not one available on a particular day.
not sure why the aversion to male doctors - but intestinal bleeding is no joke.

hopefully it's just an internal hemorroid but it could be something way worse.

go to the ER and let them take a look.

@approachingmyexpirationdate I have never been comfortable with men touching me. IDK why.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
You should at least go to your GP about it. If its bright blood then it usually just means that you might have a tear/hemmoroid. Its when its dark blood that can be a more serious indicator.
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
@Ryannnnnn I called my GP and I got a call back from the nurse. She said that my GP didn't want to see me.. She said I needed to go to the ER.. but I figured that I would give it a day.She is probably going to give me a ration of hell because I didn't go in yesterday.
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@ColoradoKid Oh yeah then you should go today probably.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
You really should get yourself checked. Go to a different hospital or town if you need to but get it seen to.

I once asked my doctor if I should take a picture of my stool in case I thought there was blood in it...

I loved her response... "For the love of God, no."
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
They can't make up thier minds. What the Fuc&? As Cartman says... You over here me over there... screw you guys I'm going home..
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
Go. To. The. Emergency room now. Now. Stop chatting on here and go. Don't worry about the rest. Just worry about this one step. Get up. Get your coat and keys and go.
ColoradoKid · 41-45, M
@JaggedLittlePill I am not head over feet on the idea.
