Do you sympathize with people who have learning difficulties ?

Mild or otherwise I know it can be a daily struggle for them to cope with the simplest things in life. It is frustrating for my old friend Nicholas who has to have support, finds it hard to get or keep a girlfriend.
I do. I feel for Nicholas. It has to be so frustrating. Those with good health are so blessed.

Yes I do. I happen to have an aunt and uncle who have some mental limitations caused by difficulties at birth. They are peaceful loving people but speaking to them for any length of time can be frustrating.

My heart goes out to them and I am grateful that I was not born that way.

@Wraithorn God bless your compassionate and understanding soul, your kindness and love for others will not go unnoticed. I find people who suffer in such ways are indeed the most sweetest and genuine people, where people who don't have learning difficulties are the ones who are fake and devious !! My sincere best wishes to you and your family, always.

@Andy69 Thanks. Yes, fake and devious is not something that they know how to do.

@Wraithorn Very true, there is an element an innocence about them, naive maybe, but sadly that leaves them open to vultures and scroungers who are only out for what they can get the the one who suffers with the learning issue are the victims.

Is sympathizing the correct word or understand the challenges they face. Everyone has some challenges to face in the world, some are more obvious than others.

I do, handicaps are very real. My handicaps were not mental but I understand daily struggle.

They are them. Why sympathize? Why expect them to be something they are not? Doesn't that show my own fault/weakness. I have my own struggles in accepting why people can be so pious and full of themselves ... they scare me away from them.

@cycleman You lack empathy and compassion, sounds cold and negative and almost narcissist, even self centered, there are always others that are worse off than us.

@Andy69 WOW. You so fail in understanding what I said.

Not as much as I should, but in principle
