How do you handle verbal and or emotional abuse from a loved one?

Emotional and or verbal abuse are worst than the physical abuse and leave scars forever, especially from a loved one..how do you manage it. Do you leave them and foreget about them or forgive them?

No, that would be low of me. I’d never hurt anyone intentionally, even if they’ve hurt me.

I suffered a lot of that and all O can say is now it's incredibly hard for me to let anyone close

I don't really know. It's probably harder for some people, but I just don't really think about it. There's no point in reliving it over and over again by keeping my mind on it. It's hard for some people to move on, though. I can't really give advice on that. It was easy for me to just keep going. I couldn't afford to mull over it or put any thought into it. It takes away too much time and energy.
