Do you have a chronic illness?

I have systemic Lupus it's a chronic immune system disease, when i first got on this site i was hoping to find others who had my sickness to get talk with people who could relate to what i was going through. But i know its hard to find others who have this illness since its still rare, but I'm willing to get to know people who deal with a chronic illness is there anyone out there who might have Cancer, cystic fibrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, or anything that has made your life change, i know what it feels like to drink tons of pills day and night and having to be in and out of the hospital, i have to get blood drawn almost every other week and i can't explain how many doctor visits i go through, i would just like to chat with someone who understands this

馃 I do and understand these frustrations very well. I'm sorry you have to deal with it too. It's very isolating at our age and I lost most people when it got too much for their healthy young adult mindsets to process.

@SwampFlower if you don't mind me asking, what do you have? Or what have you gone through

@Sela1095 I have MS and a really rare type of autoimmune encephalitis so treating it is kind of a big experiment. I've been in the hospital since May 22, dealing with infections, a surgery, and other complications. The last several months have been so difficult that hospice has been discussed on a few occasions. I've been doing fair on a third line treatments and trying to get strong enough to go home. Just taking it a day at a time.

I don't, but my mom does. Her RA can get pretty bad with the flare ups, etc.

@deadgerbil i know how she feels my Lupus causes arthritis in my joints and sometimes it hurts to bend my knees and my wrists swell up

@Sela1095 the other day, her back flared up. Now it's completely gone and it migrated to her shoulder. I wish that I could take the pain for her when she experiences those flare-ups, as it really drains her physically and mentally.
