What does it feel like to have a psychotic delusion? (Serious question)

You'd feel it was real. I think the real impact would come from how others treated you after hearing of your delusion, then how you'd react from being told it was a delusion.

Nothing makes sense and impossible shit seems to occur. Your confused and afraid. Fear is real. Personal experience.

Kind of like you’re trapped in a lift which is only called a lift and definitely not an elevator

I have never had one, but I think this is a good question because I'm not sure you would know if you did.
