When can I end it?

I've had depression since I was 16. Im 28 now. I was diagnosed at 21 with schizoid personality disorder and was on meds for a while. Thing is...Im tired. The only thing that keeps me alive is taking care of my mother and provide for her. If she wasnt here I'd have ended it long ago. I've been thinking about it and Im getting more and more tired and fed up and I just feel quite empty.

You are a person and have self worth. Be strong. Things will get better. I know.

Perhaps it's time to realize several things. The most important is you are a worthwhile person. Secondly, kudos to you for stepping up, and helping your mother. Thirdly, I understand and others here do also..hang in there.

I understand that kind of thinking, I feel the same way most times and for me is it caring for my wife. My depression started a bit earlier than you. I've come very close to ending my life so many times I've lost count. I've made a promise to myself that I am going to try to get help (again as I've tried in the past and failed) after my wife passes away. Have you tried to get any professional help yet? Do you have anyone in your life who is supportive enough that you trust them to help you through this?

@gmatthewb I did try. I was on therapy for a while and on meds but I had to drop to get a job.

@Alic3ack Ah, I can understand that. Did the therapy and meds help any do you think? Do you feel you have gotten worse since you stopped?

All you can really do is focus on now. Take it one day at a time. Figure out other things to live for. Even though it’s hard it’s has to be done. You can only live your life and no one can do it for you. Life has so much in it that you haven’t seen. It’s unpredictable. Don’t let depression blind you from seeing your bright future. Have you gone to talk to a counselor or anything? Do you think that would help?

@Harlow I have been on professional help and meds but I dont think they got it quite right.

@Alic3ack then it might be a matter of finding the right person to talk to & right meds. It’s worth it. You are worth more than you know. And I hope you realize that one day 💚

You’re strong for making it this far. I hope you’re rewarded, sometime soon. Meaning, I hope you find a way to overcome this.

You are doing very good job as you are taking care of your mother!
Some people have many children's but when they get old no one stays to help them in their old times!
😇You need honest friendship! With whom you can discuss issues and ask for advice!
Finding honest guy is difficult as most people are here fake!
But good guy just found you now! If you like we can have good friendship!

I understand how you feel. There are no easy answers, but there could be happiness in your future. You can't possibly say for sure that there's not.
