Are people suppose ot be brutally blunt about weight loss?

She noticed that I'm getting bigger in my legs and it isn't healthy. She flat out told me, "Why are you getting so big? Your legs and ass are getting bigger! I can tell you put on weight. What have you been eating? Tell me so I can help you." I was embarassed. I am 234lbs plus I'm 5'10. I've been trying to lose weight but it's so hard. She said it in front of my cousins. I asked her what she though about my picture when I showed her. She said, "To put it bluntly, tou look so big in this picture." I was hoping she said I look beautiful. She said that I always look beautiful and she don't need to tell me that and she said I could lose some weight. I know I do, but that hurts.
Even my doctor flat out told me that I need to lose weight and I'm getting close to half of 300lbs. Don't listen to the others because being tall isn't an excuse to be this weight. You still need to be healthy and take care of yourself. You aunt has a point and she cares." I said, "I think I do need to lose weight but big people are normal nowadays and-" she cut me out and shoot at me back saying, "That's because they're fat, obese or overweight. Stop making excuses. If you wanna end up fatter with diabetes, theb that's your choices otherwise lay off the junk good and start eating healthier." I couldn't say anything because she roasted me back so quickly. I said, "Thank you." And walked out cast. My doctor is VERY strick and the in your face doctor. She is BLUNT when it comes to this.
My family is brutally honest.

Shy, being over weight doesn't make you less important. But, the numbers you posted don't lie. YOU ARE OVER WEIGHT.
You know it.
Your Aunt knows it.
Your doctor knows it.
Every one here now knows it.

Everyone knows that losing weight is difficult.
If it was easy, everyone would be fit and trim.

I'm sorry - I'm not falling into the "poor Shy trap". LOse weight if you want to. Don't lose weight if you don't want to. I don't care.

But PLEASE, please, lose the 'poor me' attitude when people in your life state the obvious - that you are over weight.

The items listed above, from the original post led me to believe that you WERE looking for sympathy.

You can be honest, frightfully so, but you can still get your point across without being an asshole.

Your family is not "brutally honest", they are unsupportive and insensitive.
Regarding your weight, you are fully aware of it and that you need to reduce it for health reasons.
I recommend cutting out bread, sodas, and snacks. Try and walk for 20 minutes at least 3 times a week. (Yes, 20 minutes, NOT distance).

Beyond that, I recommend never looking for your family's approval, as they are obviously never going to give it.

That's not a good way to encourage someone to lose weight. I really hope you do, but for your sake :)
You need to feel special about yourself, and losing weight is your ticket to telling all those people 🖕

Please understand this much weight is bad for your health and well-being. It sounds harsibut they care and love you and want you to be well
Good luck with a new healthy eating program for the new year

Only because they care. So easy to go up. So difficult to come down. Personally, a persons weigh holds no bearing for me. Unless, it is a health concern.

When it comes to weight, she was insensitive and it really wasn’t any of her business.

@EmotionalMotherlessWoman1988 Your aunt. Your doctor is concerned because your weight effects your health.
