Do you think that the dry air and lack of moisture in the air this time of year could give me headaches?

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Yes and asthma/inflammation too. Use a humidifier if you don't already.
SW-User
@cherokeepatti Yes. It definitely is a sinus headache. I've just brought my humidifier into the living room where I will be hanging out today. I am going to drink a lot of water and see if this doesn't help. Thank you.
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@SW-User might wanna get a sinus mask too, you can lay down and let the heat warm your face or use hot hand towels.
SW-User
@cherokeepatti Yeah, my mom does that! Thanks!

Not only that but you may be dehydrated. It seems we drink less in winter because we're not hot but the dry air can dry us out too!. So drink up!
SW-User
@SageWanderer I drink a lot of water, but it doesn't seem to be helping at the moment.
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@SW-User Then by all means move the humidifier.
abe182 · 46-50, M
Sinuses and nasal membranes are going nuts
SW-User
@abe182 Yeah, mine sure are!

I get dehydration headaches from time to time. They're not the worst but they can be a bit sickening. Always at the back of the head near the base of the skull. If your headache is there, it's liable to be to do with water balance, yeah.
SW-User
@GlassDog Mine are more sinus related. Ugh. Gotta love central heating :)
GlassDog · 41-45, M
@SW-User Blah! Had those too as a teenager. I hated them so much. :/
SW-User
@GlassDog Yeah, they are really uncomfortable.
Riverman · 56-60, M
It is possible, but of course, there are dozens of causes for headaches. I do know that you need to drink as much or more water in the winter as in the summer.
SW-User
@Riverman Makes sense! I always wake up thirsty now.

@SW-User See what Nudewalker said below.
Seaholly · 36-40, F
Can do, a humidifier might help but if it's on very high it can be a good environment for viruses and bacteria.
SW-User
@Seaholly You mean like molds and such?
Seaholly · 36-40, F
@SW-User Yes, it can cause allergies.
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
winter can dehydrate you. So keep drinking that water.

@Caprice Thanks. I have a humidifier and was thinking of bringing it into the living room.
