What’s The difference in being lactose intolerant or being allergic to milk ?

I can eat ice cream, I can eat yogurt I can eat cheese mostly. I just can’t do milk and makes me sick even while I am eating it. What do you think ?
I’m allergic to the milk protein casein - it does not make me sick. Just miserable in every other way - my skin breaks out, hives, my hair falls out in clumps, I can’t stay awake.

Easy, you are allergic to something that gets processed out of raw milk

Try drinking kefir for a while. There are different types of organism that can live in the gut, and some are not considered "resident", but are more like transient organisms that just move through with the food that you eat. They can be beneficial, but they don't hang around and help afterward. If you are so inclined, you can keep kefir grains and make fresh kefir every day. If not, you can find it in the grocery store.
Milk is one of the most adulterated foods we consume. Maybe you can find a particular brand of milk that doesn't make you sick. If you want to narrow it down a little, get kefir grains and make kefir at home. If your home made kefir goes over OK, then you are most likely lactose intolerant. The organisms that live in kefier, and yogurt, consume the lactose so that you don't have a response to it.
🙄Sorry, kind of wordy.

Maybe I will. I just tried almond milk still got sick@JimminyChristmas
Lactose intolerance is the body’s inability to break down the lactase that is found in dairy.

Maybe you’ve developed a disgust for milk?

I'm not sure.. but if it were me or one of my kids I would go line by line and compare ingredients/any additives and try to use a process of elimanation to find out what's making u sick
an intolerance is when you get a stomach ache and throw up until it's out of your system, it doesn't agree with you. If you have an intolerance there are different levels, some can handle the yogurt, ice cream and cheese due to the different properties. There are pills you can take before eating dairy that help. Being allergic means you go into a can't breath, suffocating state and have to be taken to the hospital. Can be serious or fatal.

My kid has a bovine allergy but ice cream and cheese is just fine for some reason.

Beta lactoglobulin content is decreased in other diary products than milk because of the process and the bacteria, and the iron binding to the molecule is fortified. Iron is known to deactivate the allergens.
That's why you'd get gastrointestinal problems from milk but not from them.

Lactose is a complex sugar found in milk that some, me included, find it hard to break down, and that's where the trouble begins. Allergies have nothing to do with it. People are fructose intolerant, too. A doctor or gastroenterologist would have more info than I.
